“The Most Amazing Place We Have Ever Stayed - Perfect!!!!”
5 of 5 stars

Reviewed on TripAdvisor 1 May 2013

Oh my goodness, there is nothing NOT to like about this stunning cottage! After recieving an extremely warm welcome by the owners Fiona and Andrew we were then treated to a home baked traditional welsh loaf cake plus tea/coffee/sugar/milk aplenty so we could relax after our long journey (we travelled from Newcastle Upon Tyne with four young children) which was a really special touch. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and provided the perfect balance between modern amentities (a downstairs wetroom, huge upstairs bathroom, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher and more) with the unmistakable charm and character that the original cottage would have had. Fiona and Andrew have really hit the nail on the head here-they have managed to make the cottage both sympathetic to it's Welsh heritage whist providing every modern luxury you could require-we are getting married in September and have even considered renting the cottage for a 'child free' honeymoon as it is such a versatile cottage, so child friendly (highchair & travel cot were provided free of charge, as well as all the beds for our children being fully made up) yet i could certainly imagine it being the perfect destination for a romantic break. I really can't rate Cwmshon Cottages highly enough and can honestly say I think you'd be missing out if you visit this part of Wales and do not choose them for your stay - can't wait to go back!

“BEAUTIFULLY EQUIPPED" 5 out of 5 stars

“Beautifully Equipped and Comfortable Stay” 5 of 5 stars

Cwmshon Cottage was excellently equipped and furnished and a welcoming cake was waiting for us. The Front door had a welcome board with our names chalked upon it and logs, kindling and lighters were all waiting for us next to the wood-burner.

There was a comprehensive library of maps and guides of the local area and the owner brought more when she had established what sort of things we wanted to do.

The Cottage is surprisingly well positioned for trips to the mountains, the Pembrokeshire Coast and Gower, and is in easy reach of the M4. We shall certainly be back.

“Quality home from home, in ideal location”

5 out of 5 stars Reviewed on TripAdvisor May 2013

Really well renovated and kept cottage, with modern fittings and appliances - and with lots of character intact. We were very comfortable here, wanted for nothing and especially liked and used the wood burning stove every evening - which made the whole place really warm and cosy.

This is a great location for the B. Beacons and the Gower. And (if like us) you have dogs, there are plenty of good walks locally too.

The owners made us welcome - which is nice, especially when you have dogs along too.

This was one of those rare occasions/breaks when all of my expectations were exceeded .....

Highly recommended

I knew the moment that I walked into this lovely home that I would be sad to leave and regret that we did not have more time to experience this wonderful place! Fiona, you have truly shown that Southern Hospitality applies on both sides of the the ocean. I love your passion and love for Wales and thank you for sharing a small bit of it with us.

What a special cottage !

It was a wonderful base for our " ancestry tour " in South Wales.
Fiona's personal attention to every detail makes such a difference.
