Comfortable and very well equipped

On arrival we found all we needed to make ourselves cups of tea and coffee along with Bara Brith and honey from Fiona's own beehives. This excellent first impression proved to be right as we found the cottage to be all that we could hope for. The beds were very comfortable - always important! - and the kitchen was extremely well equipped.

We were very impressed by the folders containing information about things to do locally and ideas for days out. A weekend stay wasn't enough.

Home from Home

We occupied both cottages for a long weekend. The cottages were extremely comfortable and well equipped. There was even a Magimix in the kitchen along with home comforts such as dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.

The whole feel of the place was welcoming and clean. The showers were brilliant - we could not fault the cottages. Good parking facilities and a big Tesco nearby. The beds were very comfortable - it was just like "home from home".

A friendly welcome in a nice cottage

A very friendly welcome in a nice cottage with great access to Swansea, Cardiff and the Black Mountains. The log fire was highly appreciated after a rainy walk through the woods! Plenty of space in the big kitchen and at the table for family meals (6 adults and 2 children) and enough bathroom space to avoid waiting.

Outstanding comfort and amenities backed up by excellent attention and support from the owners

We stayed at Craig Fechan for an extended weekend, mainly to provide a base to visit the Gower peninsula during the fine weather of our 'Indian summer'. Andrew and Fiona are wonderful hosts and they really make that extra effort to ensure your stay is a great experience. They have done an outstanding job on the house conversions, providing very comfortable accomodation with every facility you could want in all weathers, whilst preserving the traditional feel of the former miners' cottages. Of course four days wasn't anything like enough time to explore all the attractions of the area, but certainly our long-delayed trips to the Gower's stunning beaches didn't disappoint, with the near-by Brecon Beacons waiting for next time! The local area also provided excellent dog walks and various options for eating out, if you are tempted to leave the cottage's well-equipped kitchen.

We would highly recommend the cottages to couples or families, and very much look forward to our next visit to this fascinating part of Wales.
